Our story so far

We’re Joe Marshall and Kev Riley, co-founders of Prospect Plant Nursery — a small independent nursery set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.

The idea took root in 2023, but the journey began much earlier.

Joe and his wife Kimberley bought Prospect House Farm in 2022 and began transforming the site. Alongside an existing dairy and equestrian enterprises, they opened a relaxed countryside campsite with tent pitches, campervan spaces, and two cosy glamping cabins.

Meanwhile, Joe and Kev had already been collaborating — creating a show-stopping garden at Joe’s previous home, where Kev’s deep horticultural knowledge came to life.

Kev has spent his life in gardens: from Assistant Head Gardener at Gravetye Manor to writing a long-standing gardening column in the local paper, and even appearing on regional radio. He’s a walking encyclopaedia of plants — and more importantly, he’s passionate about sharing that knowledge.

Between Joe’s energy and vision, and Kev’s expertise and flair for plants, Prospect Plant Nursery was the natural next step.

Now open to the public two days a week (and always growing behind the scenes), our nursery is a place where gardeners — new and seasoned — can find something a bit different, and always get honest, helpful advice.
